Day 8, 9 and 10

Howdy from Victoria, Vancouver Island.

Day 8 was easy... we ate and watched the Olympics on TV.  Well we did go to Richmond with Jim (the guy who we are staying with).  We also had Dim Sum (kind of like a Chinese all you can eat but they take the food to your table and you can decided to get it or not)

Day 9 started off real early since we had to be at the curling rink by 9:00 to watch Canada take on Japan.  There were also 3 other ice sheets with 6 other teams playing but we focused on Canada.  It was a great game and surprisingly enough very exciting.  It took the last rock for Canada to win.  We had great seats, as you can see by the pictures.  Thanks to M. Levesque's Grade 5 Immersion class for the poster.  after the curling we went to Granville Island.  We walked through the market and drooled a lot over the foods (well we did slip a bit too).  We had hoped to visited the Atlantic house but after two attempts and possibly 1-2 hour waiting in line, we didn't get in.   At the end of the day, on the way home, we stopped into a Japanese restaurant for a nice meal..  Mmmmmmmm

Day 10 was our travel day to Vancouver Island.  We watched a bit of the Olympics in the early morning and then Jim drove us about 45 minutes to the Ferry terminal.  The ferry ride over was beautiful.  It was a clear sunny day and the mountains, the islands and the sun made it all pretty special.  We are staying with friends Esther and Frank.  You would not believe this area, it looks like a park.  It is only February here but it looks like May in NB.  We look forward seeing the city tomorrow.
