Day 7

Okay, you have not heard our anthem sung so loud until you have heard it sung by 20,000 proud Canadians!
That is what it was like at BC Place last night for the Gold Medal Ceremony for Alex Bilodeau.  The place was crazy excited and that was even before the program even started.  The Medal Ceremony just happen to be sponsored by Quebec last night and there was a group singing/performing first.  Then they put up the Olympic Flag and started to announce the winners but by then the crowd was so loud you couldn't hear.  It was a great time to be Canadian!

We did do a lot more walking and lines yesterday.  We arrived early downtown and went to Live City Yaletown.  It is an area of the city that has tons of restaurants and bars but for the Olympics they have also made it into entertainment location.  They have set up a big stage with live bands as well as many TVs, food venders, and some pavillions.  After we waited in line for about an hour, we were finally in.  It was a bit disappointing since most of the good stuff inside the venue had lines again :()  Oh well... we still got to see it.

The rest of the early afternoon was spent walking and checking out other cool spots around the water front.  We met up with Carter (Greg knows him as he is a VP from the Moncton area). We ended up going to a pub for a few drinks and supper (and watch their 15 TVs)

Today, Tuesday, is our off day.  So we may just sit around and watch the Olympics on TV.  Tomorrow we see Curling at 9:00 a.m.

  1. I love reading all the things you have been doing. It must be so exciting. I know I get a bit emotional when I am watching the medal ceremony sitting alone on my couch-cannot imagine what it would be like to actually be right there! Awesome. Is it the men or the ladie's curling you will be watching. I hope Kevin Martin wins the gold-he is such a great curler. I don't really know a lot about Sandra Bernard, but she must be good as she had to beat Jennifer Jones to get there. Looking forward to reading more great stories. Have fun.
